According to industry insiders, the game is being developed under the codename “Chamber,” a nod to the main character Rebecca Chambers. It’s also been reported that the remake will feature new voice actors and advanced performance capture technologies.

One of these new features involves the train conductor, who never appeared in the original game. It’s rumored that this character will have a slightly larger role in the new installment.
A release date for the game has not yet been confirmed. However, well-known industry insider Dusk Golem has hinted at other projects. According to Golem, Capcom aims to release the Code Veronica Remake in the first quarter of 2027, and the Resident Evil 0 Remake in 2028.
